The endosulfan incident in Kerala was one of the worst examples of adverse effects caused by pesticides on public health and environment in India. Endosulfan, the organochlorine pesticide became a topic of burning discussion in the Indian continent during the 1990s after stories of individuals and communities suffering from a vast array of chronic health implications that were unknown until that time were widely been reported from Kasaragod, the northern district of the south Indian state, Kerala. Several reports and field studies in the following years reiterated the fact that these chronic illness has appeared in Kasaragod as a consequence of areal spraying of endosulfan in cashew plantations owned by the public sector Plantation Corporation of Kerala (PCK) for about 25 years. This web site is developed to make available the story of endosulfan poisoning and the adverse effects that happened in Kasaragod, Kerala.
